A 15th lava fissure was recorded in the Leilani Estates subdivision of Puna, Hawaii, on May 9, the same day that the USGS warned of an increased risk of explosive activity at the summit of the Kilauea volcano.

At least 26 homes in Leilani Estates have been destroyed by lava flows since a May 4 earthquake in the area.
