The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck what one of its official Twitter accounts said was a Hamas training camp in the northern Gaza strip on Monday, May 14, with strikes on two other Hamas “terrorist” positions there taking place earlier in the day.
“Our forces attacked a fighter with five terrorist targets in a Hamas training camp in the northern Gaza Strip,” an IDF post on its Hebrew-language site said, “in response to the terrorist activity along the perimeter fence.” At least some of the IDF attacks were in Jabalia, which is the site of a Palestinian refugee camp, according to the Israeli Ynetnews.
“The death toll in the Palestinian riots on the Gaza border fence rose to 43 on Monday afternoon, a short while before the official opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, Ynetnews reported. Credit: IDF Online via Storyful
