The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) researching the July 2014 crash of flight MH17 said, on May 24, that they were convinced the plane was downed by a missile fired by the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade, a unit of the Russian army from Kursk.
The JIT said the missile that hit the plane had a combination of characteristics that only matched one BUK-TELAR system, which joined the 53rd brigade in June 2014.
The JIT released videos calling on anyone with knowledge of the operation to share information with the investigators. Credit: Netherlands Police via Storyful
