Everyone strives for validation and acceptance and for so many people in the process of transitioning, "passing" can mean all of that, but to many, it means survival. Just this year alone, more than 300 trans people across the globe, the majority of whom were women, were murdered in hate crimes. For trans women, there's far more that goes into "passing" than just changing your clothes or cosmetics.
