An Indian Air Force helicopter was deployed to douse the fire in a rubber godown in a Delhi locality. The massive blaze in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar area started on the evening of May 29 and was brought under control on May 30 after an Mi-17 helicopter of IAF was used to spray water, officials said. The chopper, fitted with with a bambi bucket, carried out several sorties and sprayed hundreds of litres of water contain the fire. At least 70 fire engines were used to stop the fire from spreading.
