After 22 years of operation, GM Korea's factory in Gunsan closes its door for the last time today.
It's part of an agreement reached by the Korean government and General Motors on how to rescue the automaker's Korean unit.
After GM Korea announced in February its plan to shut down its Gunsan plant, the local community and the Korean government did their best to keep the plant online.
Unfortunately those efforts came up short and the factory will officially shut on Thursday.
GM Korea will continue to operate its three other plants in Korea after GM and the South Korean government came to an agreement to save the cash-strapped local unit.
