Each rescue costs £2,000 Glenn Crawley, 56, has repeatedly flipped his boat while trying to conquer Britain's biggest waves, costing the RNLI over £35,000 in rescues. The hapless helmsman sparked another scare Monday when harbour officials spotted him floundering in surf off the Cornish coast. But when a lifeboat crew found him clinging to his capsized boat close to Newquay's Towan Beach, stubborn Glenn refused several offers of help.
