A mum who hurled her six-day-old baby girl down a 44ft RUBBISH CHUTE while suffering from severe post-natal depression was yesterday (Thurs) jailed for two-and-a-half years. Iraqi-born Jaymin Abdulrahman (corr), 25, claimed she was 'tired and emotional' when she bundled her tiny daughter into a black bin bag and dropped it down a metal waste pipe. The baby, who cannot be named for legal reasons, suffered severe skull and brain injuries after she smashed into a metal plate at the bottom of the chute at 30mph. She was rushed from a block of flats in Wolverhampton to Birmingham Children's Hospital on September 8 last year and after months in intensive care the baby survived. Abdulrahman was found not guilty of attempted murder and causing
grievous bodily harm with intent at Birmingham Crown Court. But the jury found her guilty of the lesser charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
