A group of burly firemen put their brave faces on when they took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge – by getting sprayed with a FIRE HOSE. The eight firemen from Gatwick Airport Fire Rescue Service even doused themselves in buckets of iced water as they were blasted with a high pressure hose after being nominated for the viral charity challenge. The challenge was started as a way to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a form of motor neurone disease. The tough firemen took on the charity challenge to honour a former colleague, who suffered from the disease.
