A mum has expressed her anger that her daughter will have to spend the first two years of her life in hospital – despite there being no medical need for her to stay. Nicola Kefford discovered at her 28-week scan that her second child Phoebe had a complex heart and lung problem. She was born eight weeks premature and spent the first six months of her life in intensive care. But since May the only thing stopping her leaving hospital has been the lack of a care package so she could be looked after at home.
