Newcastle boss Steve McClaren "admires" the way Louis van Gaal has always stuck to his own football philosophies, even in difficult periods.

Making comparisons to his own situation at Newcastle, McClaren explains he is bringing change to the club and that those changes will take time.

The Magpies boss, who is yet to win a Premier League game this season, admitted this week that the club was "very close to a crisis" and his side face champions Chelsea on Saturday.
