Three months ago, Marcus Rashford had not even played a senior match.
Now, the 18-year-old Manchester United forward is going to France for the European Championships with England having been included in the final squad of 23 players by manager Roy Hodgson on Tuesday.
When England qualified for the European Championships in September, Rashford was still in the United academy facing a long and arduous path to the first team.
But after scoring five goals in 11 first team appearances for his club, England manager Hodgson named Rashford in his provisional 26-man squad.
At the time, Hodgson conceded the youngster faced a challenge to make the final cut of 23 players but then Rashford took less than three minutes to score on his debut last week.
At 18 years and 208 days, Rashford became the youngest player to score on debut for England when he volleyed in the opener in a 2-1 win over Australia.
It was enough to convince Hodgson to take him to France among five forward options alongside captain Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane, Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy.
Winger Andros Townsend and midfielder Danny Drinkwater were left out, along with the injured Fabian Delph.
England open their Euro 2016 campaign on 11th June against Russia before facing Wales and then Slovakia.
