India stands for free, open Indo-Pacific region, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first Indian PM to deliver the keynote speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue. Emphasising on the expanding trade and commerce between India and China, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called China a pivotal partner to India at the keynote address at the Shangri-La dialogue in Singapore. The Prime Minister spoke on a range of issues and declared India's vision for the Indo-Pacific Region, calling it a positive one. Talking about the Asean-India summit, he said the summit bears the Asean testimony to our commitment to Act East Policy. The Prime Minister also said that 'India stands for a free, open, inclusive Indo-Pacific region, which embraces everything in a common pursuit of progress and prosperity'. He further expressed the his vision for India saying that their mission is transforming India to a New India by 2022.
