In this video I answer a question that I receive often, and demonstrate a quick vocal technique that will help with correcting the issue. \r
\r
Why do I get a tickle in my throat, or feel like I have to cough when singing in certain parts of my vocal register?\r
\r
Well. there are several things that could cause this to happen, but the first thing that I always like to address, is that you shouldnt be thinking of your voice in different registers. You should always be thinking of mixing your voice, so that theres not a break between your registers. In f, for the purposes of this video, I want you to think more about bringing your head voice down to your chest voice more.\r
\r
Whenever you feel a tickle in your throat that makes you want to cough when youre singing, its usually because youre falling back in your throat and your larynx is moving out of a neutral position. \r
\r
The humming vocal exercise that I use here, will help you with keeping your larynx in place and your swallowing muscles from coming down.\r
\r
Keep singing!!
