Adhik Mass, also known as Purushottam Maas is an extra month in the Hindu calendar that is inserted to keep the lunar and solar aligned. Purushottam is one of the avatars of Vishnu and hence, this holy month is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In 2018, this extra month started on May 16, 2018, and will end on June 13, 2018. The Amavasya falls on the last of Purushottam Maas June 13, 2018, Wednesday. Though Amavasya falls every month, the Amavasya Adhik Mass falls once in three years. Hence, it is of great importance.

13 जून को अधिकमास की अमावस्या है। अधिकमास की अमावस्या का हिन्दू धर्म में विशेष महत्व होता है। अमावस्या तिथि पितरों की मानी गई है। इसलिए इस दिन पितरों की आत्मा की शांति के लिए श्राद्ध, तर्पण करने से पितरों को शांति मिलती है. पुरोषत्तम मास का पूरा महीना ही, दान, पुण्य का होता है। खासकर इस माह में किये गए विशेष उपाय विशेष फलदायी होते है. यदि आपने अब तक पूरे माह कोई उपाय नहीं किया है तो आज यानि की अधिकमास की अमावस्या को कुछ विशेष उपाय अवश्य कर ले. ताकि जाते जाते इस माह का पुण्य आपको मिल सके।
