Ivanka Trump on Wednesday tweeted a poorly received "thank you" to her father for signing an executive order that ensures families who cross the border illegally will no longer be separated. "Thank you @POTUS for taking critical action ending family separation at our border. Congress must now act + find a lasting solution that is consistent with our shared values;the same values that so many come here seeking as they endeavor to create a better life for their families," she wrote in her tweet. Among the many unfavorable responses was the tweet: "Ivanka, YOUR DAD IMPLEMENTED FAMILY SEPARATION. You're praising him for something that's literally all his fault?!?!" Other critical comments included, "He created this crisis and now you are praising him.. it never had to be done in the first place. Let's focus for now on moving forward and try to see how we can now reunite these kids w their parents," and, "IT WAS HIS ADMINISTRATION'S POLICY, IVANKA, HE IS NOT THE HERO HERE." President Trump signed the order on Wednesday. "It's about keeping families together, while at the same time being sure that we have a very powerful, very strong border and border security will be equal, if not greater than previously," the president told reporters.
