The US-Mexico border in the Rio Grande Valley is known for being a hot spot of illegal immigration.
Business Insider reports that residents in the area say they feel safe.
Several landowners told the website that they frequently saw immigrants crossing their land.
"Actually here in this area, to me it's always been very peaceful. No gang violence, no people crossing and trying to steal our stuff or whatever — nothing like that.
