Residents of Houston, Texas, were advised to stay indoors and off the streets after flash flooding hit the area and canceled most Fourth of July festivities, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning across the Houston area on July 4.

This video shows the streets in Houston flooding and cars attempting to drive through the rising water.
