French Bulldog's Life Saved by an Airline Attendant It's been a bad year for canines on planes. There have been several high profile stories about severe pet mishaps during air travel. But thankfully things ended up much differently for a French bulldog named Darcy. On a recent JetBlue flight from Florida to Massachusetts, the poor pup’s tongue turned blue. The malady was a symptom of hypoxia, a condition caused by lack of oxygen to the body. French bulldogs can be more susceptible to breathing problems because of their small snouts. It's likely that the dog would have suffocated if not of the quick response from JetBlue flight attendants. One of the attendants recognized the symptoms and gave Darcy an oxygen mask.
