"Ever Dream" is the first single recorded in two years of the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish and was released on May 3, 2002.

It was composed by keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen and belongs to his fourth studio album Century Child, which became a gold disc only in two days, which allowed the single to quickly reach # 1 in the Finnish rankings. Later it would reach the status of platinum disk for having sold more than 10,000 copies.

Century Child is an album by the Finnish metal band Nightwish. It is his fourth album, published in 2002.

It is the first album with bassist Marco Hietala, previously a member of the Sinergy group, who also makes voices, replacing Sami Vänskä. Century Child includes songs that play a variety of themes and thoughts in their lyrics, from fury (in Slaying the dreamer) to the most complete romanticism (in Forever yours). The production of the album is very careful.

The album also has the particularity of including a version of "The Phantom of the Opera", originally written by Andrew Lloyd Webber for Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford. This work was also covered by bands from the world of Gothic metal such as Dreams of Sanity, Lacrimosa and Anabantha (being the latter's version in Spanish).
The album was platinum 2x in Finland with more than 60,000 copies sold, the second best selling album in Finland in 2002, Today, Century Child has sold more than 90,000 copies only in Finland.1 Globally, it sold more of 350,000 copies between 2002 and 2003.
