Ranbir Kapoor has finally proved why he is referred as Bollywood’s next superstar. His film Sanju, a biopic on controversial Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, has become the sixth biggest hit at domestic box office till date. As per film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Sanju earned Rs 316.64 crore till July 15. It’s slightly behind Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan that has a gross earning if Rs 320.34 crore till date. The film, which is still earning money, is expected to break Salman’s record in the coming days. The other films on this list are Baahubali 2, Dangal, PK and Tiger Zinda Hai. At its current pace, Sanju is likely to overtake PK (Rs 340.80 cr) and become the number 3 on this list. Baahubali 2 (Rs 510.98 cr) and Dangal (Rs 387.38 cr) will be difficult to beat. After making Rs 34.75 crore on its opening day, Sanju became the highest grosser of 2018 as well as of Ranbir’s and director Rajkumar Hirani’s careers. The film went on to cross the Rs 100-crore mark in the first weekend itself.
