According to a report by Reuters, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit to the south of the Alaskan peninsula on Thursday, however no tsunami warning has been issued. The U.S. Geological Survey said that the quake was centered about 62 miles south of Sand Point, Alaska, at a depth of 10.6 miles. Officials from the National Weather Service said that the quake was far milder than a magnitude 7.9 earthquake that struck the Gulf of Alaska in January.
