Iran's Foreign Minister on Monday responded to President Trump's tweet.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday responded to President Trump's all-caps Twitter threat.
"COLOR US UNIMPRESSED: The world heard even harsher bluster a few months ago. And Iranians have heard them —albeit more civilized ones—for 40 yrs. We've been around for millennia & seen fall of empires, incl our own, which lasted more than the life of some countries. BE CAUTIOUS!" Zarif wrote on Twitter.
His tweet came hours Trump warned Iran.
"To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!" Trump tweeted Sunday night.
The New York Times noted: "Trump's message was apparently in response to a speech on Sunday by Mr. Rouhani, who warned the United States that any conflict with Iran would be the 'mother of all wars.'"
At Monday's press briefing, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked what prompted Trump to post that tweet.
"The president has been, I think, pretty strong, since day one, in his language towards Iran. He was responding to comments made from them, and he's going to continue to focus on the safety and security of American people," Sanders told reporters.
