The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a defense budget for next year.
And it's not just money -- the bill restricts the U.S. military from significantly downsizing its troops in South Korea.
Worth some 7-hundred-16 billion U.S. dollars,... the bill says,.... none of the money can be used to reduce the number U.S. troops to under 22-thousand... unless the secretary of defense confirms.... that it will not hurt the security interests of the U.S. or its allies South Korea and Japan.
The bill also points out that.... any significant removal of the U.S. forces in Korea is non-negotiable... as it relates to negotiations with the North.
The bill now goes to the Senate,... and if passed, it will be on U.S. President Trump's desk to sign.
