Members of the California National Guard and the California Air National Guard helped firefighters battle the fast-growing Carr Fire on July 28.
The fire had grown to 80,906 acres and was just five percent contained by about 11 pm, local time, according to a video update from CalFire. The blaze had killed five people and destroyed about 500 structures by that date.
