Shasta County’s Carr Fire expanded to almost 100,000 acres with 20 percent containment on Monday, July 30, according to the California Department of Fire and Forestry Protection. At least six people are dead and several missing.
The fire, which began on July 26, destroyed 874 structures, including 657 houses, the Los Angeles Times reported on July 29.
