Despite some of our best efforts to preserve our most prized sneakers in as pristine a condition as possible, the ravages of time are inescapable on the materials used in sneaker construction. What if they could instead frolic in bucolic, lush moss for the rest of eternity, where time and its follies have no place? Enter QUEST, a Hong Kong-based workshop founded by designer Tim Wong in 2013 that specializes in creating moss terrariums. For the "Sneaker Head Series," Tim has placed within his glass-bound microcosms iconic silhouettes such as the Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Chicago" and Nike Air Max 1 models that are rendered in intricate detail. The terrariums themselves are closed-off, self-sustaining ecosystems in their own right, with the moisture in the jar being cycled through again and again, equating to a maintenance-free piece of organic art. For more on QUEST, follow Tim's latest creations via his Instagram account.
