The Carr Fire in northern California was more than 115,000 acres and 35 percent contained by August 1 as it spread intoTrinity County from Shasta County, according to ABC 7.
The deadly fire has killed six people and destroyed over 1,000 homes, according to KCRA.
Evacuated residents from the River Park Highlands subdivision began returning home on July 31.
