Drone footage from May captured a farmer herding young sheep across barren farmland in Darkan, Western Australia, where drought conditions have ravaged the agriculture industry.
Darkan, which sits around 200 kilometres south of Perth, is amongst the towns in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt that have been afflicted by drought and radical environmental changes. Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology reports drought conditions are still affecting much of the country, with July coming in as the driest since 2002.
The drone operator from Australian Farm Albums who filmed footage of the herd said the livestock seen in this video were brought to pastures where there supplementary feed, which has been particularly needed after a lack of rain in the autumn. Credit: Australian Farm Albums via Storyful
