Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Asset Management Limited, told Mint that in India cost of distribution is relatively high. “If you look at the expense ratio that we charge in our schemes vs global counterparts, we are actually reasonable. Market forces will decide expense ratios. AMCs need to fair to end customers – where you delivering value at 2% to 2.5% (expense ratio), you are fully entitled to charge it as cost of distribution is very high, even today,” she said. The fund manager was speaking on the sidelines of the Mint Mutual Fund Conclave in Mumbai.
