CNN reports, citing sources, that President Trump has been urged to not tweet about the Trump Tower meeting.

President Trump has reportedly been "urged to stop tweeting" about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting involving Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer.  According to CNN, "a source familiar with the discussions" said that Trump was told that bringing up the meeting only invigorates conversation about it.  The Washington Post notes that while it appears Trump seems satisfied with attorney Rudy Giuliani's assurances that special counsel Robert Mueller has nothing on him, the president is said to be concerned about how the investigation will impact his son.  Trump dismissed reports of his unease in a Sunday morning tweet: "Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower. This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics - and it went nowhere. I did not know about it!"
However, the tweet ended up raising more questions.
It "served as an admission that the Trump team had not been forthright when Donald Trump Jr. issued a statement in July 2017 saying that the meeting had been primarily about the adoption of Russian children," notes the New York Times.
