The 2014 Dakar begins on January 5 in Rosario, Argentina and will see the competitors complete a brutal race covering 8734km over 14 days.

In the third of our Red Bull previews we look at five-times winner and legend Cyril Despres.

Despres is the man by which all other Dakar riders are judged. His meticulous approach to racing has seen him remain at the pinnacle of the sport for over a decade.

After spending all his rally career with KTM, he's switched to Yamaha for 2014.
