Video summary of the ALDE Seminar on "The Future of European Bioenergy Industries"
Event date: 14/05/07 14:30 to 18:00
Location: Room ASP 3G3, European Parliament, Brussels
The European Council's decision on a European energy policy includes the binding target of 20% of the EU’s total energy consumption to come from renewables by 2020 and 10% from biofuels. Member States need to prepare to reach this target, and related industries need to prepare themselves and their technologies to do the same.
With the March Council's decisions on energy as a backdrop, the purpose of this seminar is to present the current situation of bioenergy industries in Europe, and show which measures and legislation might be taken in order to stay on track to meet the Council's targets.
The seminar will also be an opportunity to share the experiences of the different companies using or producing bioenergy in this new challenge.
