PM Modi delivered nearly a one and a half hour long speech at the Red Fort today as India marked its 72nd independence day today. PM Modi made a big policy announcement on Ayushman Bharat today, unveiling the govt's ambitious health insurance scheme. He also announced a scheme for women in uniform giving them permanent commission like men. His speech focused largely on govt policies but he did not spare the UPA govt either. In a veiled attack he did say that progress was at snail's pace in 2013. Modi stressed on progress made in terms of health, skill, women empowerment among several other things.
