‘Anbodu Kochi’, a team of volunteers, has established collection centres to collect relief materials for Kerala flood victims. Anbodu Kochi was set up on August 16 for providing help to Kerala flood victims. Set up in the form of a ‘call centre’, they are basically a rescue platform. Girish S Pradeep, a member of the volunteer group said, “We started this on 16th. We had opened up lines and we have three rescue numbers. Since we started we have been receiving continuous calls.” Saratha, another member added, “Currently we are going through a disaster here, we are having floods in Kerala. When we got to know about the requirements of government and victims of floods, we gathered for help. We are closely associated with District Collector's team. We take requirements of callers and cater the same to respected departments.” The flood situation which is going on for many days has worsened and the death toll has gone over 300.
