Wrestler Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the Asian Games on Monday and later said she needed to change the colour of medal since she had way too many career silver medals. The 23-year old won gold in women’s 50 kg freestyle wrestling by beating Japan’s Yuki Irie 6-2 in the final. “I wanted to change the colour of my medal and I was adamant for this even before I landed in Jakarta,” said Vinesh.
