The co-owner of the Chicago Cubs has responded to criticism over acquiring INF Daniel Murphy. Murphy has expressed anti-LGTBQ views, saying he disagreed with the “lifestyle,” in 2015. Chicago’s co-owner Laura Ricketts, who is openly gay, says she was consulted before the trade was made. She adds Murphy has developed a good friendship with former MLB player Billy Bean. Bean serves as the league’s Ambassador for Inclusion.
