Hurricane Lane dumped torrential rain across Hawaii over the weekend and early this week, bringing flash floods and landslides as residents were forced to evacuate to safety.

The video, shared to Facebook by Daniel Petri, shows a woman and a man wading through waist-deep floodwaters in the rain. This was filmed in Mountain View, Puna on August 25 at around 9 pm.

While the hurricane did not make landfall in Hawaii, the storm brought over 30 inches of rain to the island, forcing the closure of schools and businesses as flooded roads and highways blocked traffic. The storm continued to pummel parts of the state with rain early this week.
