Drivers near Del Mar Fairgrounds sat in traffic for hours as police descended on the scene of the shooting, media reported on Sunday, September 2.
Officials responded to the call shortly before 7 pm that evening. The suspect had reportedly taken a gun out and fired it three times in the air. After failing to subdue him using a taser, officers opened fire at the shooter.
This video, shared to Twitter by Ruby Rose, shows cars frozen in traffic.
"Police set up a perimeter around the Del Mar Fairgrounds," Rose told Newsflare. "Traffic and people were chaos trying to get out. We saw 20-30 cop cars racing by from all directions."
