From mid-November 2013 to the end of January over 75,000 votes were cast and the winner of National Geographic's prestigious People's Choice Adventurer of the Year has now been announced: Kilian Jornet. Kilian beat a strong field of 12 other candidates that included the Canadian alpinists Raphael Slawinski and Ian Welsted and the Czech sports climbing champion Adam Ondra.
