The penultimate round of the Bouldering World Cup took place in Haiyang, China over the weekend and, for the women's event at least, it proved to be the deciding event of the tour. With another solid performance, Akiyo Noguchi took second place and claimed the overall title for the season with an unassailable lead. She beat out Brit Shauna Coxsey who put in another solid performance to come third. Claiming gold in the women's draw however was Swiss climber Petra Klingler, topping the podium for the first time since her days as a junior. Meanwhile in the men's draw, things are still undecided. Korean Jongwon Chon took gold ahead of Rustam Gelmanov in second and France's Alban Levier in third. In the overall standings, this puts Jongwon in first narrowly ahead of Adam Ondra, Jan Hojer and Nathaniel Coleman. With everything still to play for, it should be an exciting end to the men's season in Munich this August.
