President Trump made a bizarre claim about James Comey and Robert Mueller.

President Trump has asserted on a number of occasions that the Russia investigation is tainted, as former FBI Director James Comey and special counsel Robert Mueller are friends, but he recently added a new twist to the claim.  In an interview with the Daily Caller, Trump said that Mueller is "Comey's best friend. And I could give you 100 pictures of him and Comey hugging and kissing each other. You know, he's Comey's best friend."  Generally, Trump's criticism of Mueller's investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 election comes without the promise of irrefutable evidence of bias and impropriety.  "Is Robert Mueller ever going to release his conflicts of interest with respect to President Trump, including the fact that we had a very nasty & contentious business relationship, I turned him down to head the FBI (one day before appointment as S.C.) & Comey is his close friend," Trump tweeted in July.
And in June, he wrote on Twitter: "Comey gave Strozk his marching orders. Mueller is Comey's best friend. Witch Hunt!"
