The National Assembly's 100-day regular session started this week... and the leaders of South Korea's three main parties are taking turns addressing lawmakers.
Today,.... it's the turn of the centrist Bareun Mirae Party.
For more, we have our political correspondent Kim Mok-yeon on the line for us.
Mok-yeon,.. tell us more
Sure Ji-yoon, this morning's speech from floor leader Kim Kwan-young largely focused on the sluggish economy.
Kim criticized the Moon administration's policies on income-led growth and the minimum wage hike,... calling them reckless measures.
He said the government should focus on "economic democracy" that could foster fair economic growth not only from large conglomerates but also amongst small firms and venture enterprises.
As part of such efforts, the floor leader stressed the need for regulatory reform, urging the ruling and main opposition parties to pass pending bills on deregulation as early as next week.
He also took time to criticize the current government for its political responsibility.
Kim said the Moon administration's so-called "publicizing politics", which
allows the public to vote and make decisions on various controversial issues shows the government is cowardly and irresponsible.
On North Korea, the minor opposition floor leader said the party is willing to cooperate with the ratification of Panmunjom Declaration, but also echoed the main opposition party's concerns on North Korea's actual implementation of the denuclearization process.
He proposed that the parliament first adopt a resolution that includes the National Assembly's firm willingness on the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and on maintaining the iron clad alliance with the United States.
This has been Kim Mok-yeon from the National Assembly.
