The speaker of South Korea's National Assembly is calling on the two Koreas to hold talks between representatives of their respective parliaments.
Moon Hee-sang says he will make the proposal in a letter to Choe Tae-bok -- the chairman of the North's Supreme People's Assembly.
The South Korean delegation attending next week's summit has agreed to deliver the letter on his behalf.
Senior members of the National Assembly, including the heads of every major party, were invited by President Moon Jae-in to accompany him for the summit, but none of them took him up on the offer.
