A koala is recovering in Port Stephens Koalas Sanctuary in New South Wales, after it was found with severely damaged eyes.

The marsupial, named Glen William Clarence, was being treated for chlamydia which had manifested in painful ulcers on his eyelids.

This didn’t stop Clarence embracing the koala breeding season, with his handler remarking in the video uploaded to Facebook that he was scent marking logs in the hope of attracting a female. Credit: Port Stephens Koalas via Storyful
