Representatives for the band and the NFL have not yet commented on the matter. According to 'Variety,' the group’s proclivity towards all-star collaborations is a big reason why they were chosen. They have recently recorded songs with SZA, Cardi B, Future and Kendrick Lamar. In 2015, frontman Adam Levine said Maroon 5 had been on a “short list” of groups to perform for some time. At the moment, Maroon 5 is touring for their latest album 'Red Pill Blues.'
