Charlie Fire in Los Angeles County Burns Thousands of Acres Within Hours

A wildfire that broke out on Saturday, September 22, in southern California had grown to 3,000 acres within hours.

The fire, which was first reported at 2:40 pm at Charlie Canyon Road, forced road closures and could be seen as far as the San Fernando Valley.

Los Angeles County Fire Department inspector Joey Marron said that 120 firefighters, three helicopters and two Super Scooper aircraft were deployed to battle the blaze. Credit: @masteranibal via Storyful
