We heard from New York earlier that a second summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump is due to happen sometime "soon."
Following his boss' remarks on the matter,... U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo hinted at how the administration will go about setting up another meeting.
Kan Hyeong-woo reports.
After President Trump said a second summit with Kim Jong-un will take place "quite soon",... U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took to the podium at a press briefing at the UN General Assembly on Monday to back up the president's comments.

"The president said this morning that they'll meet soon, I am confident that will happen. I expect I'll be traveling to Pyeongyang before too long as well, to make the final preparations for the second meeting between the two leaders... ( ) Yes, I - Lord-willing, I will be traveling before the end of the year."

When asked by a CNN reporter whether another meeting with the North Korean leader would be "ludicrous" if the details of the denuclearization process are not in place first,... Pompeo said such efforts are not in vain.
He also stressed there's enormous value in the two sides continuing to make progress and holding more conversations.

He added that, by bringing the leaders together,... who are capable of making the crunch decisions that will move the denuclearization process forward,... they can make progress towards what the UN Security Council has demanded and what Kim Jong-un has promised to do.

Pompeo's last scheduled visit to Pyeongyang in August was abruptly canceled some 24 hours after he announced the trip.
The cancellation was announced by President Trump on his Twitter.
At the time, Trump said he instructed Pompeo not to go due to what he called North Korea's lack of progress on denuclearization.
