북한, 의회 회담 개최 제의 원칙적 동의
North Korea is apparently in favor of holding parliamentary talks with the South.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Moon Hee-sang..., proposed the event in a letter to Choe Tae-bok -- the chairman of the North's Supreme People's Assembly.
That letter was delivered last week during the inter-Korean summit in Pyeongyang.
Today Choe wrote back, saying Pyeongyang agrees in principle to opening a dialogue... and that both legislatures have important roles in the implementation of the two Koreas' agreements.
He added the talks can be arranged after high-level South and North Korean officials meet to schedule talks in several fields in accordance with the recent Pyeongyang Declaration.
Choe also exprssed hopes the South Korean parliament ratifies this year's joint declarations as soon as possible.
