Typhoon Trami brought strong winds to Okinawa on the morning of Saturday, September 28, before tracking north towards Japan’s main islands.
The storm, which knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of homes in Okinawa Prefecture, would impact western and eastern parts of the country on Sunday and Monday. Flights to and from most airports in Japan were suspended on Sunday, while train services in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe were also disrupted, according to NHK.
Channel News Asia reported on Sunday at least at least 17 people had been injured by Trami. Credit: eimihoney via Storyful
